Psyllium Husks and Cholesterol

SylliFlor is a dietary supplement of psyllium husk (known as fleaseeds) with a natural high content of fibres, which can help lower cholesterol levels.
The effects of fleaseed/psyllium husks on cholesterol
Husks from the Psyllium plant contain viscous fibres that have proven to help reduce cholesterol levels in the blood. The fibres work by swelling to form a gelatinous mass, which is believed to affect the conversion of cholesterol and bind substances related to the formation of cholesterol. These are then transported through the digestive system and not absorbed through the intestine.

15 g SylliFlor (3 tbsp) a day provides 7g of fibre content, and has a proven effect on blood levels of total cholesterol and
the unhealthy LDL cholesterol. Eat SylliFlor in combination with a healthy diet and an activelifestyle.Drink plenty of water to allow the fibres to swell and prevent constipation.

Facts about cholesterol
Elevated blood cholesterol increases the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases. The condition is often caused by a fatty diet, although some people have an innate tendency towards high cholesterol. Cholesterol can be measured both as total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol. HDL-cholesterol is often referred to as ”good cholesterol” because it can protect against cardiovascular diseases, while LDL-cholesterol is referred to as ”dangerous cholesterol” because it particularly affects the formation of atherosclerosis.
